I find my self so seldom writing a Hollywood movie. Hereby I write a review of Logan (2017). I’ve watched this movie twice and still carried away. I am a fan of Hugh Jackman, slightly because he is a show stealer from the beginning. Some says Logan is a tribute to Hugh Jackman himself for 17 years in consecutive seasons for being none other than The Wolverine.
It has 2029 as the background, but they choose to minimize the futuristic that other sci-fi movie might be bring to. We will find Mr. James Howlett doing his job as Uber Driver (or might another services) with his Chrysler 24. Across the border, he treats Professor X in a tank, which to reduce the impact of Professor’s illness. You will barely know him as Logan since he’s too old, yes, I am sayin’ it, he is too old, he is being an old man.
The case arose right when some lady come to him and ask him whether he is Logan or not. In this movie, we would see less fancy and grande car, or even setting. It’s all about emotions that you could feel in 137 minutes. With a help from Caliban, he is taking care of the professor, while he’s struggling for money. Yeah, the era of X-Men is end, so no sponsors, no unlimited money to them.
Story quite good with a brilliant jokes which they deliver it so nicely. Especially when they talked about Statue of Liberty which is indirectly pointing out to Laura and the nurse hideout. You have really smart jokes, to be honest.
James Howlett and Logan
He has his name, he got his memories. At first, I wonder that he would take someone’s name to hide his identity, but it is, his name is James Howlett and he is unaware of DNA donation. I could say this is debatable, but in my point of view… some one should give a form consent to donate of his DNA, for God sake, its DNA, not some Adamantium.
Chemistry between the old pal and his student is like Palmer’s father and son from The Judge. Chemistry between father and daughter is going strong in second half. Dafne Keen surprisingly well acted in this movie.
I’d like to conclude what in my mind for instance. This is the best movie of 2017 that I ever watch, slow it down, it is just 3 months, we have 9 months ahead and to be honest, I don’t have to count on award, they have so many awards, name it OSCAR, Golden Globes, Hollywood and others…
As for me, Logan is brutally demolishing my ego for a moment and feel the loss of the universe. Even jokingly Hugh Jackman stated that maybe Shahrukh Khan could play as Wolverine, but I don’t think it will be good enough since Shahrukh Khan is so Anthony Stark. If Bollywood want to make Marvel, I bet Shahrukh Khan will be the right choice for playin’ the arrogant, my mistake, the philanthropist Stark. We could ask Ranveer Singh as Hulk and Aditya Roy Kapoor as Hawkeye, while Anushka Sharma will be right choice for Black Widow, maybe you could put Aamir Khan to be the captain, and Salman for being Thor.
Okay, that was a nonsense. Till we meet again… (saf)
